Student Visa
More than 130,000 students come to study in Canada every year. This does not include the
International students who are studying French or English as a second language.
International students bring a rich culture to our school. Their knowledge and skills are welcomed! In Canada our schools are regulated by the provinces. These provinces are also in charge of health care and medical services.
If you want to acquire more information on living and studying in Canada, you can contact the school where you wish to study.
If you are planning to study in a short-term program in Canada, you do not need a student permit.
If you are planning to continue with your studies in another program after you have completed the initial short program, we encourage you to apply for a study visa before you come to Canada. This is very important as the visa will allow you to apply for your new program from within Canada. In order to obtain this study visa, you will have to apply to the Canadian visa office which is closest to your residence.
Most international students will need a visa to study in Canada. If you wish to study in Quebec in Eastern Canada, you will need to apply in Quebec for an additional visa required by that province. Before you come to study in Canada you will need:
* A letter of acceptance from the school of your
choice.
* Proof that you have enough money to pay school fees and live near the school.
* To establish that you will return home at the end of your studies.
* To pass a medical examination if this should be needed.
* To qualify as a temporary resident in Canada, you will need a temporary resident visa.
A guide for international

You should plan ahead - for example, studying goals, cultural differences, living arrangements and your financial situation before applying to study in Canada.
